2. How many units on a truck?

It depends on what you’re buying, and the mill. In general, you can estimate 12 units of 4’x8’ 7/16" OSB per truckload. With thicker products, you will get fewer units before the truck is full. With thinner products, you may get less. Certain mills have standard ways of doing things, for example:

• Huber usually loads 13 units for 23/32 T&G

• Langboard generally ships 13 units per truck, but loads 12 for 19/32

• LP generally loads 14 units per truck

3. Are these exact quantities I'm seeing?

No. The number of units per truck and number of pieces per unit you see on OSBMarket are approximate and may not match the quantity loaded by our source mills and storage facilities. Variance might be 10% or more, and usually due to load restrictions. The final tally will be on your final invoice, which we reconcile with the bill of lading for your load.

4. Do I have to buy 12 units?

No. Twelve units is an average truckload quantity for an average OSB product. If your typical order is 11 or 13 units, you can change the quantity. Less than truckload sales may be permitted for some customers under certain conditions. Please call us at 866-809-8101 or contact us for information on less than truckload orders.

5. Can I mix different products on one load?

Yes. However, the products must be delivered to the same desto (selected from the same delivery region), and must originate at the same mill or storage facility. If your mixed load order comes from different source locations, we will contact you to recommend substitutes.

6. How is shipping calculated?

Prices on OSBMarket are TrueMarket™ prices that include shipping to any destination within defined regions. For more information on our regions, click here.

7. What about taxes?

Taxes, if applicable, are not included in product prices or price totals on OSBMarket product pages, checkout, or confirmations. Taxes will be shown on the final invoice you receive after your product has shipped.

8. When will my truckload arrive?

Any shipping dates we show on OSBMarket are our best estimates and only approximate. After you complete your order, a customer service representative will contact you with delivery details. If you have special delivery requirements, please make a note on your order.

9. When will I receive an invoice?

You will receive a final invoice via fax after your order has shipped.

10. What if my preferred mill is not shown?

If you do not see your preferred manufacturer or mill on OSBMarket, we still may have their product available for you. Please call 866-809-8101 or contact us.

11. What is BestAvailable™?

The BestAvailable™ product allows us to fill your order with product from any mill that makes it. BestAvailable is often more readily available and can be less expensive than ordering product from a specific mill. If you have questions about how we substitute products, please call 866-809-8101 or contact us.

12. What is a TrueMarket™ price?

TrueMarket™ prices are delivered prices – shipping charges are included to any delivery destination ("desto") within our regions.

13. What is a TrueMarket™ index?

The TrueMarket™ index is a daily composite price for Silvaris sales across North America. Sales are aggregated into four separate volume-adjusted indexes: thick and thin products, and LowGrade1™ and LowGrade2™ products. Thin OSB is 1/2" or thinner, Thick OSB is 19/32" or thicker. To learn more about LowGrade1 and LowGrade2, click here.

14. What if my desto is not in your regions?

Although OSBMarket does not yet show TrueMarket™ prices for every region, we can get you a delivered quote to any destination in North America. Call 866-809-8101 or contact us.

15. Can I mix and match products from several mills?

No. Well, it might be technically possible, but we will not be able to fulfill your order as quickly. We do not store all products from all mills at all locations. If you want less than truckload quantities of product from two or more manufacturers, please call 866-809-8101 or contact us.

16. Can I buy more than one truckload?

Yes. You may order multiple trucks or in railcar quantities.

17. Is there a minimum order?

No, however, our customers are generally industrial accounts, manufacturers who order in wholesale quantities (flatbed trailer truckloads and railcars). If you want only a few sheets of OSB for a small project, your best bet is a local retailer.

18. I'm a new new customer. Where do I start?

The first thing we need to do is set up your account. Only Silvaris customers with active accounts in good standing may purchase from OSBMarket. Please call 866-809-8101 or contact us and we will start the process with you.

19. Can I use downfall OSB for construction?

Downfall OSB does not meet building codes and should not be used for residential construction. However, there are other types of construction such as out buildings and sheds for which it is appropriate.
